I had their kale salad, which is superb. I am from out of state, and I appreciated the local flavors. My brother, who lives locally, eats here frequently.

Burger is on point! It had been a couple years since I had eaten here, but I'm so glad I revisited. I recommend the wings they just added to their menu, and asking for a side of toast because the sauce with those wings is just THAT good. I also got "The Templeton Rat" as my cocktail for the evening. Seriously amazing. It was really light and refreshing - perfect for hot NOLA days. I could drink that forever.

I did some searching for restaurants in NOLA that aren't heavy on seafood AND close to the St. Charles Trolley line and came up with Cowbell. They are NOT on the main thoroughfare, but it is SO worth the walk! I opted for the Schnitz & Giggles and was in love from the first bite! It is a pork loin, not veal, but was still lovely. The green beans were just right and OMG the grits were like eating heaven! I don't remember what my friend got, but she was very happy about it. We were there mid-afternoon on a Friday, around the time the staff changes, so having them check with us a little more would have been nice, it absolutely did not make us have a negative experience here. Go out of your way to eat here. You will thank yourself later!

Fun and quirky spot with central location. Our server unknowledgable about drink menu when I asked her about some of their signature drinks. The food took quite awhile to come out. However, the food was pretty good. Not sure it will be on the top of my list to return.

Mac & cheese was delicious but not worth $9 for a cup. Meat quality is good but have had better burgers for less than $15. Special beef tips sandwich was very good & tender. Nice atmosphere. Nice wait staff.
