The vet and techs here have never been anything other than informed, caring, and knowledgeable. I have nothing but trust for this place and I will be taking my cats here for years to come!

We were told to drop our 9 year old rescue 6.8 pound tabby that we'd had one year as an inside cat off for surgery between 8 and 9 am. At noon my husband rec'd a call that they could not spay her because they'd like to wait a month as something had come up. Upon arrival to pick her up at 4:00 pm that day, I was shown a picture in the lobby on the front desk person's cell phone of her shaved belly and was told "See these bumps? It should be flat" and that was it. I said nothing and awaited the doctor to arrive at 4:15. During that wait, she advised I should bring her home to a nice quiet room with a clean litter box and no food or water until the next day which confused me as she hadn't eaten anything in 24 hours and now they wanted to make it about 38 hours total, which seemed inhumane. I started to explain how I'd had cats before and wasn't ever told to wait so long but she rudely and embarrassingly interrupted me in front of two other customers in the waiting room so she never heard my full question and I said "I'll talk to the doctor as this is uncomfortable" She later explained that after anesthesia a cat could aspirate on any food but maybe she could have water around 11:00 pm that night. Dr. McMenomy came out and said he'd like to wait a month after the lumps and what seemed to be a bee bee in her belly. I tried repeatedly asking what good waiting a month would do as I would like to know what's wrong. He said he didn't know if she was pregnant as it might go down or if it had to do with her uterus which I thought was strange since two of the four bumps were by her heart/chest area. I asked how we could find out as I didn't want to wait and he was continually saying he wouldn't do the spay now. I told him I wasn't concerned about that but how could I find out what the bumps were or what the diagnosis was. He then said $500-$700 for an ultrasound but I could "shop around." $119 for blood work, was told she had low potassium and here's a supplement and when asked what lower levels of potassium mean in a cat he was reluctant in my opinion to even answer this, but said it could be the heart, etc. So we get her home and she is really messed up. I had been told by front desk that she was under anesthesia from 10:45 to 11:53 and then she corrected herself and said no, she was only under for 8 minutes. Then I called them back when I saw how loopy she still was at 4:45pm and asked why. They kept putting other people on the phone, rudely without asking us to hold, the tech said it was about 15 minutes, so which is it? 15, 8? 45? who knows?? I also asked if we could do x-rays and she's a small cat, the doctor said, "You won't see much from the x-rays." I will seek a second opinion and will not be back to these self-important, non-compassionate, non-explanatory, folks whom must think pet owners know nothing about animals, Super big disappointment.
