Moto-i has some premium quality ramen, steamed buns, and top notch locally made sake. In comparing their ramen to that of ramen in Japan or around the cities... here is my analysis:
1) I almost always order the classic ramen, and add extra chili oil.
2) Moto-i ramen has great quality pork - i believe it is even sometimes (always?) smoked / prepared on site. The price reflects this, but it's well worth it.
3) The sodium content may be a bit high, but the flavor far surpasses this negative point.
4) Ramen in Japan and the other ramen spots around Minneapolis tend to use a tougher or lower quality cut of pork... and often taste more on the bland side for me. I believe that ramen is more of a low end meal in Japan, and also costs about 2/3 or half the cost of what Moto-i charges at $13.

It has an amazing ambience and the rooftop setting is great. The food overall was okay but the drinks were good and the sake was amazing. We had the Miogo. It took our group 15 minutes to determine our sake order and our server was very patient. So kudos to that!!

Rooftop is amazing. I love the chalkboard drawings of sumo wrestlers. Excellent food. Probably the best brunch in town. Can you say $2 sake mimosas?

The rooftop is not to be missed. Love the menu. Plenty of vegetarian options. Great music. A wonderful time to be had.
