Contrary to popular belief, the story behind the name "The Herkimer Pub & Brewery" stems from a twisted yet captivating love story. The owner of the brewery, Tony, was once an avid collector. He collected a wide variety of oddities, but his most precious piece, his "shining star", was a small gold ring with a stone which was said to hold within it the essence of the Goddess Ninkasi; the Sumerian deity of beer. It was from this ring that he drew his unmistakable power to brew incredible beer. His quaffable ales drew people by the thousands. One day, an alluring young woman with the last name of Herkimer found herself under the spell of his enchanting ales. Her beauty was more than enough for any man to fall in love with. Using this to her advantage, she soon set her eyes on the ring. Her brothers had always teased her and claimed that she was never become a master brewer. This, combined with her bandit skills, paved the way for her to seduce and rob the unsuspecting Tony. Once he realized that the power in the ring had been inside himself all along, he decided to open his own brewery. With great satisfaction, he trademarked the name so she could never open a brewery under he own name.

I went in with my friends and we where called “Retards” by a customer. I thought it was disrespectful and told the customer not to be using those words. The customer called me a retard again and ask for his tab and since the bar tender didn’t want him and his friends to leave he told us to get out of the bar. I will never step foot in this bar because they reather protect their monetary interest then prevent name calling that is degrading and disrespectful. My friends and I where disrespected by the bar tender the customer and walk out of a very bad situation. I don’t recommend this bar as there are many other respectable bars around Uptown that can offer a better and more respectful experience.

I feel even even if the service was great and the food was bad I would be ok with it. But...
1. Service was horrible
2. Beer was mediocre
3. Food was horrible!
DO NOT GET THE MAC AND CHEESE. unless you like watered down cheese sauce.

Indoor seating is limited and excruciatingly noisy. Lots of outdoor seating if you swing that way.
No gluten-free options. Place seems like it would be hip to food restrictions but totally isnt.

I have only been here during football season to watch The Packer games and there is not nearly enough seating. I have had to leave and travel elsewhere more times than once. The bartender seemed nice and the food was pretty decent but I have to say the reason that I never returned was that the beer was just Terrible and I'm not picky at all.
It is a brew pub so that's kind of a big deal They only serve their beer or cocktails maybe things have changed since than. Also good luck finding parking. I almost got towed last time I tried.
