Most active recreactional lake in the South Minneapolis chain of lakes. Volleyball courts, three separate beaches, kayak & paddle board rentals, and a great little lakeside restaurant that serves food & beer with a large outdoor seating area. It can get a little crowded if you're going on a run around the walking path, but beyond that it's a Minneapolis summertime staple.

Nice lake with a few beachy spots and playground. There are a few pay lots but I usually have no problem finding street parking. There are also some BBQ grills and benches scattered throughout the lake. There is also a trolley, usually runs during the summer until 8pm, that I haven't had the chance to experience yet. Some parts of the walking and biking trails are uneven so be aware of that if you are teaching someone to rollerblade or bike. The lake is only 3 miles around so it's perfect for a jog/walk.

Love Lake Calhoun. It's always busy, so keep that in mind when visiting. There is a walking path and a bike/skateboard/anything with wheels path. Beaches are kept clean and has plenty of room. Sand is more like rocks - not very fine.

No better place to spend a summer afternoon in Minneapolis! There is a nice walking path around the lake, in addition to a separate biking/skating path. Need to grab a bite to eat.. cafe on site. Want to paddle board, kayak or rent that bike, Wheel Fun Rentals has you covered as well!
