As a nurse executive, there were numerous and severe safety infractions occurring during my mother's 10 day stay. Medications were incorrect, incomplete, missed, and not given at the appropriate time. Example: She was woken up at 3:30 a.m. for a neb treatment (she never takes her neb in the middle of the night). Multiple times it was over 40 minutes to answer a call light and when she pressed it again, she was told, "Well you will just have to be patient." Additionally she was scolded for going to the bathroom on her own after waiting almost an hour because no one came to help her. A critical blood pressure over 181 was taken by a staff member and never reported to the nurse. It was 3 days before she was even walked or received her first round of therapy. Meals were not what she ordered and one staff told her, "You have to eat now so I can go home." They came to clip her toenails at 5:30 a.m. She was told they didn't have oxygen in the shower room so she would have to take hers off or use her own personal portable device (which was to be used to get her home). Bandages were not changed for over a week. It was 8 days and multiple requests to get a shower. Staff did not know what generic cough syrup was and made their own substitutions. Staff did not know how to dispense her daily generic Maalox, which was only given after multiple phone calls over 3 days and pleading that she does not take Tums, but Maalox. I had the Administrator on Call paged and never heard from her (Maureen). Once started, the therapy team was great, but there were too many lapses in general overall safety that were missed routinely. Needless to say, talking to marketing will not resolve these issues and we are in the process of taking our own course of action.

Not the care I had hoped for - for my mother.

My husband was a patient for several weeks at St Terese, 4th floor at North Memorial in December 2016 and January 2017. His care was delivered in a professional, yet very caring and patient manner. I would highly recommend this Transitional Care Facility to others. Thank you to all who cared for Paul.

My 89 yr old Mother spent several weeks here. She received excellent care. The staff is very caring and professional. The ease of moving from the hospital to this floor (in the same hospital) was so much better for my Mom - no transportation, no difficult arrangements - they just wheeled her up in her bed! It's a great idea and made my Mom's recovery so much better.

Great service and facility in North Memorial complex. Private room was key to my recovery allowing the necessary rest for healing. Thank you, Saint Therese.
