This place was great before they closed down. The employees deserved better but Minneapolis is now lacking a good vegan restaurant.

ONLY giving it 2 stars because of the food quality, it is honestly pretty good and most of the dishes taste good. The smoothies are the best. Do NOT go here if you are trying to eat in under an hour. There were only 2 other tables in the restaurant and we waited forever to get our food. The servers were not personable what so ever. People in the kitchen seemed to be high and it was very unprofessional.

My wife just went to this place and ended up getting sick. She threw up on her way back and had to pull over her car. After calling, she was on hold for over 5 minutes, then they admitted that sometimes people throw up after having wheatgrass, but then immediately assured that there is no way she got sick from the place. And, to add to the insult (quoting the Ecopolitan employee) he said "you are obviously not listening to the facts". Well, the fact is she pulled over at a red light to throw up. They didn't take accountability to the food they serve and the reactions it could have on people. That's a really crappy way to treat an (now an ex) customer? For $18? 0 points for quality and customer service. Very very disappointing

We ate here the evening of 10 April, a Sunday, after a weekend up from Iowa City. I must say that as a health-conscious foodie for better than 40 years from a fairly progressive locale, the food here is incredible. The creativity bestowed on every aspect is nothing short of spectacular. We have a cooperative called New Pioneer in Iowa City that was the first 'real' foods place of it's kind that stemmed from the early 1970's. They nearly lost it all about 1980 when somehow they decided that customer service didn't matter. Whoever is the genius behind the food coming out of Ecopolitan, please note: your fare has the potential to scale great heights. It's present confines hold it back. Sunday night in Minneapolis you should have been packed with a que on the porch. You have the market, you have the talent and creativity--if you cannot move this to the next level, this will die. You need backers, a better venue, serious service and some PR.
So sad to see potential not taken to fruition.

Customer service here is horrendous.

The chef actually came out after we waited for an hour and a half and said that we should haven't had any expectations because they are serving at a "slow food movement". This is raw and cold so I guess we were just waiting on our hipster trendy waitress to decide when she was ready to work again and obviously doesn't grasp the concept of customer service. They were taking they're to go, before serving in house and ignored the guests requests.

I would highly recommend not eating here, it's a waste of your time. For a much more enjoyable evening I would recommend just grocery shopping and cooking at home, a much more pleasurable experience.
