I host many events and 612 Brewery is by far is my favorite venue! Their Cellar room has incredible ambiance and combined with the stellar service and excellent beers, 612 Brewery makes for a fantastic venue for your future events.

If there were only two or three breweries in the city and this was one of them, I'd be a regular here, and proud of it. However, Minneapolis packs in craft breweries like sardines in a tin can, and 612, suffering from a lack of distinction, becomes lost in the crowd. There's not much going on here that you haven't seen before: it's perfectly good, drinkable beer that can certainly satisfy, but will never excite.

I don't like the location of this place, but the outdoor "garden" is a nice touch to the odd location. The indoor area I felt was too cramped. The beer and service was okay, but nothing memorable for me. It's worth the visit and I liked how the food truck is willing to deliver the food to your table...but that's their business. Overall, a nice spot for a few friends and you to talk, but nothing too popular like a few of the other nearby breweries.

Honestly, 612 has an AMAZING selection of beers and a superb atmosphere. I have been there countless times. 612Brew has a repeat customer for life. If you get a chance to stop in try the Unrated or the new Hidden Beach, both are now at the top of my list!

I am a huge proponent for local craft beer and have nothing but hope for all of our breweries and wish to see them all succeed. 612, however, has always been that one brewery for me that I've sat back and patiently waited for things to improve — at least from my perspective. Now while the space is OK inside (I much prefer sitting in their outdoor area if it's nice out), their beer has always been a source of contention for me.

They have made marginal improvements over the years, but I have never liked their beer — there's just something unpleasant about the flavor and how they finish. Perhaps it's the hop varieties they're using, the yeast strain, their water treatment, or their process — whatever it is, most of their beers taste overly earth-like to me and to a fault. I always find my way back to the breweries that I didn't like once before and give them a second shot several months later to see if anything has changed. I've done this five or six times now and nothing has changed substantially.

I can't place my finger on it, but all of their beers have a similar profile and finish to them — earthy and unpleasant. There's not enough variety to make me want to give them more opportunities to find something that I can connect with and enjoy; and I wish that wasn't the case. And because I'm a pretty forgiving beer drinker and am always up to try something different — I'm currently at about 1300 unique beers on Untappd — I will give them another shot in six months time to see if things change at all. But I remain skeptical — I've given them a few years and haven't seen much of a difference.
