I want to divide my review in two parts:
Paula is great and she deserves 10 stars, she´s the owner of the place and all the work she does is of the greatest quality BUT....
I give it 1 star because of the hairstylist Monique Medina, given the great experiences I´ve had with Paula I gave Monique a shot to do my hair after having a child and not being in a salon for over a year I was excited to make a change in my hair and ask her to do a balayage and haircut, the experience was beyond disappointing that I wanted to cry afterwards, she did merely bleached highlights (the ones shown in the photos to other clients) when I clearly showed her a photo and told her the color I wanted in my hair, she was with other two clients at the same time and clearly the bleach was overdone, I have almost black hair so I wanted a balayage/ombre in a caramel tone, the hair turned out too light, like a beige color, I told her that wasn´t what I asked for and she first resisted and said that it was nice and looked good creating an uncomfortable situation so I had to insist that it wasn´t what I asked for, so she applied a toner in all my hair, this was a pity because I didn´t want my natural hair to be applied toner all over or in the roots, that´s why I wanted a balayage in the first place!, well, the hair came in two tones, the beige and another more orangy tone....and she didn´t do a balayage in the first place, it was normal highlights, you cannot see the difference between the hair in the top and the bottom like the balayage is supposed to be. The haircut... another story, she didn´t cut it as short as I told her since she wanted to cut it a little before the balayage and afterwards she would finish up, my family didn´t even realized there was a cut in my hair, Monique cut it a little in the back and at the end after the balayage she just cut touch up in the front... for all this I paid almost $300.... I felt ROBBED needless to say, I have to save again to go to a decent person that knows what is doing the next time, I feel Monique knows how to do a couple of haircuts and the same old highlights but not anything new or in trend and cannot be asked to do something different. She resisted what the client was asking and did the things her way on top of being super expensive. I don´t recommend her at all
