We've had the 4th bad experience with this travel agency and I'm about to report it to the better business bureau also call TACA corporate offices.
They sell tickets, collect the cash and hand type a complete itinerary to give to the passenger but when we call TACA or show up to the airport there is no reservation, the ticket has not been paid for or the reservation is for a completely different date.
About 8 of my family members purchased tickets to travel to San Salvador and a day before our travel there was no reservation for 3 of us. TACA never had a record of any purchased tickets. We call the agency and got the run around if we could travel another day and to wait till the following day and call TACA again to see if we were confirmed. After several hours and getting the round around all of us were able to travel that day.
But today we just found out that for our return 2 of the reservation did not have a return ticket. My uncle is in San Salvador trying to figure out how to return back to Los Angeles. Gigante Travel told him to buy a ticket and he will get refunded here but I think thats another of their scam.
What the agency did is sold my uncle a one way ticket and told him that it was a round trip ticket.
Another thing they did was sold 2 tickets back in December to my husband and daughter but a day before our travel both were in separate planes. My daughter was 10 at that time. Gigante told me over the phone that TACA at the airport would put both of them on the same plane. I'm sure they do this all the time to innocent people. Be aware DO NOT BUY TICKETS FROM THIS AGENCY. THEY MIGHT BE A BIT LOWER IN PRICE BUT THE HASTLE AND THE STRESS IS NOT WORTH IT. Specially when you travel on an emergency.
