I'm addicted to this place - i love all the little toys you can get. It's like buying a Happy Meal without the burger and fries, but better, because the little guys are soooooo cute and fun and you won't gain a pound. Instead, you'll lose weight because you're spending all you $$ here!

This is the best independent book store in Los Angeles, by far. As a teacher, I appreciate the great selection of children's books including award winning titles. Thanks for the 10% discount and the late hours.
I'm disappointed to see that Alternate Universe has book drives for some of Los Angeles most privileged schools. Yes, I think every child should deserve great books, but some of Austin's schools could use Alternate Universe generosity more than others. Please consider donating books to a Title I school.
