My niece got a call from GSH around 7:30am telling her that my brother had an "episode" last night, that he coded and was resuscitated, and was now in ICU and was alive but sedated. She rushed to the hospital and called me on the way. I am in North Carolina and was planning to go home to San Antonio today but decided to fly to Dallas instead and get to GSH asap. Before I could wipe away my tears and get the ticket changed, my niece texted me to let me know he was NOT in ICU, but was in his room...in the shower! It wasn't my brother who coded last night!!! What in the world is going on at GSH?

We went to Dr. Afshar's clinic, because the ER doctor prescribed a heart monitor for my wife at Good Shepherd. We were not his patients. We did not visit with Dr. Afshar. After completing the heart monitor in which we paid $250 out of pocket. We waited for our test results. After 2 weeks with no response, we contacted the heart monitor lab company. They had released the results to Dr. Afshar. We contacted Dr. Afshar for the results and were told to wait. We waited another week without response. I called them the following week, and was told that we had to come in for an office visit to get our results. I told them that since we paid for the test, we have the right to see our results. My wife does not have insurance and we have no money for an office visit. The office said no. Finally, we contacted the heart monitor company and told them our situation. They gave us my wife's test results. After 2 weeks, Dr. Afshar's office sent us a $30 bill for reading the test results. We had not met him or talked to any of his nurses about the results. I asked his office and Good Shepherd to take off this amount. However, it has been 2 months and they just send me another bill. No response to my inquiries. I have decided to just pay the bill. Customer beware.

What a sorry excuse for a hospital been here 12 freaking hrs and no answer on anything. Wouldn't bring my dog here after this visit. Hell would probably get better service from a veterinarian

If you can go elsewhere I strongly encourage you to do so. Triage nurses don't follow procedure and mine was coughing without covering her mouth the whole time.

Worst hospital experience of my life and Im not exaggerating. Read the rest of the reviews here and you will get an idea of what you'll be looking forward to.
I went there a couple days ago in intense pain and needed to be seen by a doctor so I could find out what was wrong with me, but since I can't afford medical insurance they refused to see me. So don't bother coming here UNLESS it is considered a "medical emergency" as they had put it. They said my vitals were fine(and that I could go home)which had NOTHING to do with the reason why I came here in the first place!!! Don't let this place fool you because in all truth, it isn't really about the care of the patients here it's all about numbers and the mighty dollar. Better off going to Regional, at least I can depend on receiving the care I need there.
