Warning!!! Think twice before using Republic Bank for your home mortgage. We had an easy experience with them when we closed but it’s been nothing but trouble since then! We’ve lived in our house a little over two years and this is the second time they have increased our monthly mortgage payment without even notifying us! In the first year it went up $100/month because they miscalculated the taxes? Still not sure how that’s our fault....and now they’ve increased it yet again this time $600/month because they miscalculated the escrow?! How can they get away with this? We are hard working people and have always paid on time and bought a house within our budget. Seriously who can afford an extra $600 a month!? We would have bought a bigger house if that was the case. We will be looking into finding a lender that can actually do the math and get things straightened out. To top it all off the customer service has been terrible. Take my advice and go somewhere else!
