This college doesn't even deserve one star. When I applied for a transfer student, they made me jump through hoops. One lady insulted me based on my age I'm not already married with kids. The staff are unprofessional and not helpful. Save your time, do not go there

College is small but VERY peaceful! Never have to worry about parking. Staff is always friendly and helpful. Professors are very competent and nice usually. Everyone gives you attention there. Better than Santa Fe.

Small college with usually friendly staff. Building are old and the classrooms could use updating. The new president is already working on some upgrades and improvements. Parking can be confusing at first and the security guards are usually roaming around keeping the place safe. Instructors that have been here a long time are friendly and helpful. The college employs a lot of adjunct instructors which are usually less knowledgeable on the subject. Advisors are not very helpful or useful which results in messed up schedules and a lot of confusion for students.

I started attending this college right out of high school, when it was still known as Lake City Community College and graduated with an AA in 2011. The college recently became a 4-Year Degree institution, so it's still building it's catalogue in some ways I think. Regarding enrollment, if you stay on top of the dates and schedules, it's a fast and fairly easy matter. I do not say this as a privileged student, I did not get a free ride here. The longer you wait to enroll however, the longer it will take to finish the process. This is a small school, usually topping out around 3,000 students, so the staff is fairly small as well.

I've noticed other reviews tackling the issue with parking, and yes, after 10 AM CONVENIENT parking can get pretty scarce. Once again, small campus, smaller resources. Pro Tip: Walking is actually good for you, and the campus consists of plenty of trees and a few covered walkways. I walked the length of this campus over and over, several times a day and lost a few extra pounds doing it. Contrary to previous reviews, I found more than just a few staff members to be comfortable to deal with, particularly Humanities instructors, the Library staff, and the Student Activities staff. I made a lot of friends on this campus, even going on to serve in the Student Government Association there. Had they offered a Bachelor's Degree for my major, I would have gladly stayed.

I started out 2 years ago, the process to transfer to Florida Gateways program so I would be able to complete the requirements for my degree. After spending money on physicals and resources to get them the information they wanted they turned around and denied me because I did not have a letter from the program director. I told them from the beginning, very clearly, that this was not possible. They told me this should not prevent me from transferring to there college at first; however, it stopped the transferring process. The dean told me that she would not make any acceptation. This cost me a significant amount of time and resources that I will not get back.
