Surprised she's still practicing. Treated me and my son in 2000 in Powell. She didn't know I had 16 years training and experience Air Force Dental Corps. Dental checkups 6 months prior to seeing her- no issues. Told me my son had 10 cavities. He had none. Did some cleaning on my lower front teeth, then said it was a waste of her time. Unprofessional and rude.

I received fine care from the dentist and staff on my visit. I returned about my bill; it is 250% more than their estimate. They explained things well, but I do not think they were upfront about what would be covered on my initial visit. When I told the staff this upon my return, they were immediately defensive and told me that their staff would never do that. I agreed to pay the bill. When I told the dentist that I did not understand why I had a procedure that was not covered, she responded sarcastically and rudely, saying, "Oh, really? Because I told you......."

We have been going to Dr. Tamara Howard's practice for almost three years and have had really good experiences. Dr. Howard is very knowledgeable and compassionate. She is an ARTIST of cosmetic dentistry. She is conservative in her approach and will never recommend unnecessary work. She takes time to listen and to explain things to us. Her staff is excellent with children. Our kids actually look forward to going for their visits. I am very happy about this, that they do not have that fear of going to the dentist.
