My second favorite dog park in the area. First is the one in Shawnee. This park has a huge section for the dogs to run and play.

Good variety of breeds at this park. Nice and open. Some of the "culture" here is off though.

Huge park with plenty of trees, some water stations, poop bag stations and plenty of benches. Unfortunately, this really only describes the big dog area >40 lbs. Small dog area has a bench and shade from 1 nearby tree and the area is super small. So this basically forces everyone with a small dog into the big dog area.
With that said the dog park has some of the most pretentious people I've ever met. People that sit there, read a book, or on their phone, not paying attention or even interacting with their dogs. People that jog around the park and then get upset when a dog thinks they're playing a game of "chase." Since the problem described above forces small dog owners to go to the large area to get some shade or more dog interaction they're the most pretentious of all when a big dog comes near their tiny dog and can become irate over the big dog playing too "rough." It's hard to blame the dog owners on that one since the city put poor planning into the small dog area, but if you don't like big dogs playing with little fluffy you shouldn't even be at a dog park.
The dog park is nice, and in a central location with pretty good amenities, but it could have been built better to accommodate small dogs (I'm also not a small dog owner, just observations from my visits there). The people also suck because they think of it as social time with other people rather than for their dogs. If you want to socialize with other people go to a bar or find a book club or something.
On a final note the grass is getting pretty darn long and can sometimes make finding your dogs poop a daunting task, so careful where you step. When it rains have fun giving your dog a bath later because it's a giant mud-pit.
