PizzaBella has the potential to be a great place. The menu (and food) is fantastic, but poor leadership, inadequate staffing, and inconsistent hours, will surely lead a business to its eventual demise. I truly hope things improve for them so they can succeed.

The brick oven pizza and appetizers are never disappointing. If we are going to do pizza and not feel guilty about it this is the spot. Also, I had my first date here with the boyfriend of four years. :D

We love it so much that we held our rehearsal dinner here. You must try the sprouts and the prosciutto pizza!

On 4-Aug-17, we decided we'd try PizzaBella while down in the Crossroads district for First Fridays.

First, we arrived around 7pm. The restaurant was fairly full and people were standing in line to be seated. There were about six people ahead of us: a party of two and a party of four. As we stood there, numerous others came in behind us.For the first 10 minutes we were there, no hostess was on duty to write down people's names or to estimate wait times. So my spouse went to the bar area and inquired if we were to seat ourselves or if someone was going to help us. A hostess finally came to the area.

The hostess didn't write down names. She yelled out to ask who the first party of two was. So two people in front of us were seated. She disappeared again for another 10 minutes, although there were a couple of tables open and four seats at the bar. We got tired of waiting and decided to just seat ourselves at the bar, because there were two open chairs together.

When we sat down, one of the bar staff rudely snapped at us and told the bar wasn't open seating. A hostess would need to seat us. First, this isn't a normal policy for restaurants not to allow customers to seat themselves at the bar. Bar areas are always open seating. We told him that we had been standing up there for almost 20 minutes. We further stated the hostess only seated a party of two over the 20 minute period and that she was disappearing and not doing her job. When we repeatedly told him we were the next party of two, he insisted we get back in line. When we said something to the hostess, although she clearly knew we were next due to the prior conversation my husband had with her, she directed us to THE END OF THE LINE. By this time at least 15 people were in line. So, we left and went to Lydia's. While Lydia's had a 45 minute wait for a table, they had open bar seating so we ate there. The service and food was wonderful, far from the service we received at PizzaBella.

What a poorly run restaurant. No wonder the one located at Mission Farms closed if this is how they train their employees to run the restaurant. The staff here should be fired, period. The food might indeed be good, but we'll never know because we won't go back.

Pizzabella has one of the coolest atmospheres for an upscale/casual restaurant in the crossroads area. The food is delicious and fresh and they have a great selection of wines, beers and cocktails. It a fun place to grab some hand tossed pizza, antipasto or a drink. I would definitely recommend it to anyone who was looking for a dining experience.
