To wrap this up in a nutshell, if you're African American don't even bother going because you're not getting in. This club is RACIST and it caters to a certain crowd. Someone should update these idiots that we're in 2011 and that our President is mixed with black and white.

Do Not Go to this RACIST club!!! We walked up to the door boy on a Sunday night and he asked "which party are you with?" My man and I, both African American Professionals, asked "You have to be with a party? I just saw a couple of people walk in before me and you didn't ask them that question." He stated "Yea, you have to be with one of the parties today." I remove myself from his lies and he continues to speak with my man and tells him, "Well I'll let you in...if you take care of me!" I'm so over this lame Houston nightlife. That door boy needs to get a second job instead of begging for a second offering at the door.

Horrible!!! I read the other reviews and was warned by friends, but I thought maybe my experience would be different. Well, my experience was exactly the same as the others.

Understanding that they were strict, I decided to bring a 2 to 1 girl to guy ratio plus get there before 11 and wear “dress to impress” attire. Well, my plan completely failed. When we got there around 10:45, the doorman said he could only let people on the guest list in. The place was not very busy and we were the only people waiting in line, but I understood that they want to take care of the people who put down the big bucks.

We waited about an hour and we observed a bunch of people who were not on the guest list get in. I am not the type to bring up race at all, but clearly being a minority does not help you get inside the lounge. After an hour and half waiting, we finally decided to leave.
I have a problem with the doorman not having the courtesy to tell us we were not going to get in when we got there. I just want to warn people not to go there and waste your time waiting in a line. Please do not support this establishment.

like any other new club/lounge openings in the Washington area, they want to keep it selective and socialite. That means no minorities allowed. We were denied because of the color of our race, but the doorman used the typical excuse "you do not have the proper attire." That's how those places work, to no offend anyone or face lawsuits, the vague attire line is always brought up. I'd rather the doorman be blunt and say "there's too many of y'all Asians, sorry." Don't worry my minority brothers, in 2 months, when money's tight, they open the floodgates to the rest of us. Then, like the circle of life, the place goes out of business and something new pops up.

They wont let you go near here if you are not White or White and very wealthy. So here is where all of the white folks party ....Houston here we have segregation. Lets see how long they will last. I knew the guy that owned Block 21 that was where Sanctuary is now. Majority of places on Washington is fixated on color of skin instead of wanting to make money. This place should be called the The Sanctuary for the White People in Houston.
