I love chicken katsu and based on the Google reviews I went there. I noticed that their price was higher than what a reviewer claimed. They must have raised it. L&L Drive In by Costco in Iwilei has it on special for $5.99. Here it was much more. The chicken katsu itself was okay. The pieces were rather thin unlike L&L's which are thicker. The breading was okay. The sauce was rather watered down as if they added water to stretch it. The rice was okay. But the mac salad has got to be the worst mac salad that I have ever had. I had a case of diarhea after eating that meal. I gave Waiakamilo a second chance and ordered their mahi mahi plate and the fish was not mahi mahi. I know what mahi mahi looks and taste like. The fish was was not cooked right. It was definitely overcooked. The seasoning was not done well either. The rice was okay. But the mac salad, again, looked and tasted bad. I ate the mac salad just to see if I got the same reaction. And sure enought I had diarhea. Now I know for sure that I got sick from eating at this place. Next time I need to get a fix on chicken katsu I'll just make them myself.
