Nice rooms, good location, friendly staff. Close to waikiki attractions and have a good range of activities available.

Pluses and minuses.
Minuses: small, somewhat worn room. Noisy box a/c. So much furniture in the room that I kept stubbing my toes. Tiny onsite parking lot. Bath towels not great.
Pluses: fridge & microwave. Good wifi & table where we could work. Great beach towels, cute pool area. very close to the beach, but still quiet and restful- which seems rare on Waikiki, & is what we wanted.

Loved our 3 week stay, room good with little kitchenette very handy. Staff were amazing & live the Aloho spirit! Nice pool & outdoor area, with pizza restaurant. Free shuttle to Ala Moana, beach towels & chairs. Minutes walk to the beach, ABC shops & everything else in Waikiki. Would definitely stay again!

The staff was wonderful. Very friendly and helpful. However, the room was VERY dated, and we were not comfortable. The air conditioner was an older one installed into the wall, and it didn't reach the bathroom which remained warm and humid the entire time. It ran the entire 24 hours we were there but never fully cooled the room, and it was very loud. Our room had a kitchenette, but the water from the sink was not pleasant to drink. The pool and outdoor area looked very nice, although the length of our stay prevented us from trying it out.

I found this lovely small hotel 22 years ago (before it was the Aqua Bamboo).
I love it for the smaller size, the location, and the great helpful staff.
Have never had a bad time there.
Have just finalized my return visit in October 2017.
Would & do recommend it to anyone going to Honolulu.
Everyone working at the Aqua, from the Manager on down, are great,
helpful in every way.
