From the Hilo side I order takeout and it was great. However, I am an Environmental Scientist and I asked it I could bring my own container before hand and they said okay. When I went to pick up my order with my own container my food was already in styrofoam. I want to stress that the food was very good, but I was very disappointed with the styrofoam, because now I can't recycle it.

Food here is amazing! The best curry we've had in the US! We drive nearly an hour for it, and then take home extras to eat through the week. The service is also excellent and they always make us feel so welcome!

We really like this place. The food is very tasty, with fresh spices and vegan, vegetarian and meat dishes. The place is very clean and modern and the staff is friendly.

Not a great experience over all. I was feeling a bit hungry after my shopping. I decided to try this place for some Samosas. I looked at the menu out side, $5.49, okay not bad. I walk in say "hello" ask the counter girl may I get a to go order, she say yes. I order my samosas, she rings it up $8 and some change. I polity ask, "why so much?" Her response, " visiting Hawaii, every things more." I had to show my state issued Hawaii I'd and I was charged less but it was still not the menu price.

The veggie samosas were almost all potato. No carrots, no coliflower and only one sad little pea in both of them. The sweet "chutney" sauce was what tasted like, watered down BBQ sauce with a piece of fruit in it. The green sauce was mainly cilantro sauce, tasted more like salsa to me. All of the items could use more Indian spices.

Island Naturals has a much better samosas and chutney, when they have it. The samosas might not be as crunchy, but everything else is on point. Some of the best chutney, I have had at Island Naturals.

I will not be back.

Update:
I called and spoke with a "gentleman", the call started off good enough. It did not end well. I wanted to see if the menu prices differed from the menu outside. He said "No", than said take- out was a different price. I said I can appreciate that a take would be different. Than his voice got angry and said we don't charge different prices. Told me I was mistaken. Said I was charged correctly. I said yes I was only after I had to show my HI state ID. He basically said I was lying. I had to hang the phone up as not to get upset with him.
