Went here the day before Valentine's day for a date and it was amazing. I'd never been inside of this building when it was the Downtown Club, so I was blown away by how amazing this building was. The staff was very nice and welcoming and answered all of the questions that we had. The restaurant recently changed hands so I wouldn't listen to the older reviews on this page. The cocktails were amazing, we didn't order food but those around us who did seemed to enjoyed it.

Best cocktail in all of Fresno and the food is wonderful. The combination of reasonable prices, great food, good service make The Republican a great experience.

Loved it! I had a very nice experience. As soon as I pulled up I was greeted by a very friendly valet. The staff was very nice, great company. The food was delicious. I ordered the chicken penne pasta. The sauce was great and the chicken was cooked perfectly. The environment was nice, I really enjoyed the natural lighting. Beautiful. I would recommend it to anybody. I will be making this a regular on my list of lunch/ dinner time restaurants!!

Very Bad Experience. Had a private event over the weekend. Was Promised a buffet of Kebabs and other fixings as part of the buffet that was prepaid for. Got frozen burritos, taquitos, whitecastle sliders to go with some gross meatball dishes and store bought cupcakes. I am glad we prepaid the owner over 1400 dollars for a nice spread of food and this is what we received. Thank you Downtown Club for turning a 10th Anniversary Party Into a Joke. Will never do business here again. The owner has no integrity and the nerve to tell me if he would sue me and would shut down the party if we did not pay the remainder of what we owed him. No Class. No Integrity. This restaurant with such history in the Fresno Area, should have an owner who cares about the prestige of his business and final product. This Owner, will never have another one of my family functions again.

I called for info to have a wedding there and she ask my budget when I gave it to her she said, "um... You can have your wedding at Mcdonalds!" and hung up. That was the manager, very rude.
