Would not recommend. My escrow was supposed to be extremely simple and my final documents were considered a "short stack". However, that didn't seem to make it any easier on Chicago Title. I signed documents on a Tuesday expecting keys on Friday, the original closing date. However, Chicago scanned the documents poorly and the recorders office rejected the documents. I wasn't able to access my house until the following Monday.
From a logistics point of view, weekends are valuable time to those of us who work full time and it really put a kink into my "moving in" schedule. From an emotional point of view, I made sure everything on my end was done swiftly and I was so excited this journey would be ending. I should have been falling in love with my new home and shopping for appliances and paint swatches, not stuck in no-man's-land at a friend's house twiddling my thumbs hoping Monday would bring good news.
Lastly, their explanation stuck the blame on the recorder's office saying they were very picky. If Chicago Title (Fresno) were the professionals they claimed to be, then they would know the standard's of the county recorder and not blame them for doing their job. I spoke with a manager at Chicago Title and he semi-apologized. He said he would look at my file but hasn't gotten back to me... Very professional.
I don't feel they satisfactorily resolved the issue because this could (and will) happen again to someone else!
