I wish I could leave negative stars. It should be illegal to do business with these people. The manager Mary is nasty and rude. Getting your IRA rolled to another bank is next to impossible. If you are thinking about doing business with Principal Bank run. Anywhere is better than them.

I would like to give them minus stars if I could. This place has the worse customer service ever. They do not respond and send half of the info that you ask for. Their excuse for lack of mail and constant failure on their side to receive mail that you send them is that "they are in Iowa and the mail is very slow." I guess they are still in the 19th century and it arrives by wagon. Do not place your money in this bank. It will take you months to get it out.

terrible. my money was at principle with a 401k and supposed to be transferred 100% but they didn't, they kept part of it and did not tell me. months later I get a notice that I still have money in an account and due to me not doing something about it, It had been moved and changed to another account. I had to pay again to reset up an account and transfer the money again. I have yet to see the money. I feel they are deliberately steeling my money and 'feeing' me to death. I highly DO NOT recommend principle in any of its forms.

Like all the other reviews, I've had a very similar experience to share. I started with a company that offered a 401K through Principal. After I switched jobs, I was not notified of what was going to happen with my 401K funds, but Principal automatically rolled them over into a bank account so I am only receiving 0.10% interest, and I'm getting a $25 service fee. At this point, they are not letting me rollover into my current retirement plan, I will get penalized for an early withdrawal from my 401K due to my age, or in 20 years I will no longer have any funds left due to the service fees. NEVER use this company. And they say it's good to invest for your future...All that has been accomplished is money lost thanks to Principal Bank.

10 day's ago they sent me an email telling me that they received my fax, and it was in process, and they would send me an another email to confirm the deposit. For the last year I been doing this, it takes up to 1-2 days from the day they receive the fax to get my $ deposited. I call today to get an explanation and the wench says 10 business days. I said #1, it never has in the last year... & #2 the email mentions -0- about 10 business days. She replies, that's because we don't actually know how long... Further, She Adds, it's Tax time & were real busy, we have ALOT of requests at this time. I replied, Then let someone know!!!!!! You could have either stated it on an email or text or called. 10-to-1 it was Most Likely over looked, & she couldn't/ wouldn't say that!! Pretty Sure!!!
