We were visiting Dayton and stopped by the Patterson Homestead as the google site says open 10-4 daily. We were so excited to tour the Home. After paying for an Uber to take us across town, we find all doors locked and no information about the hours open. We then called the number on the website. The woman who answered the phone acted as though we were stupid to not know I️t was by appointment only. Leaving Dayton disappointed.

Coming up a Victorian tea 29 October. This museum is the remains of the Patterson's homestead. Mr Patterson was the founder of National Cash Register (NCR). The cash register was major in ensuring that cash was accurately accounted for. NCR was also major in the development of the modern computer. Their top salesman was the founder of IBM. Although their sales techniques were perhaps overly aggressive by today's standards and did result in legal challenges. Nonetheless, Mr. Patterson cleared his name and kept NCR in large measure by assisting Dayton OH residents after the great flood. After this good deed all legal charges were dropped. Many more exciting details will be revealed!
