The ambiance is ok, looks like a Spanish neighborhood meal house except for the music, which is obnoxious gipsy rumba who only tourist would listen.
The bread is not served automatically and is not Spanish style (this alone would disqualified a restaurant in Spain)
The tortilla is old, dry and without onions (4/10) The calamari is not calamari but chipiron (3/10) The boquerones are not really boquerones but smelt, but they were well fried (6/10)
Now, let's get serous, the jamón ibérico was poorly cut, had good flavor but kind of old, dry and zero fat (3/10)
The croquetas were hard and dry, not creamy (2/10)
The meatballs are fair (6/10)
The rioja wine was not served in the table, it was served already in the glass. (2/10)
The natillas was not home made. (2/10)
This place is ok if you're desperate for Spanish food, other way find somewhere else or go to Spain for vacations.

Excellent service, authentic Spanish flavor, great selection of wines... Cozy romantic environment...She'd love it and I'm happy.

Superb authentic Spanish Tapas. Pleasant rustic decor. Location 'off the beaten track'. I have eaten at some of the best Tapas restaurants and this one is right up there with them! Will definitely be back

I have been going to Cafe Madrid since the 90's and it is still one of my favorite restaurants in Dallas. Never rushed. It's priced a little above average for comparable tapas, but they are the only ones that get the experience right. Would highly recommend to friends, family, and visitors.

Food was horrible. We ordered paella for ten people and the dish tasted like lighter fluid. There was no crust on the bottom of the rice, and the spices were off.
The pitcher of sangria was watered down and had little to no fruit flavor. It tasted like someone poorer Gallo table red and water over a few slices of orange.
Frankly, I've tasted more authentic Spanish flavor at Taco Bell.
I found no redeeming quality in this place and will never return or recommend!
