I went to Mitchell's for lunch today. It's still the reliable awesome experience it has always been these past 12 years. I got my pan seared market scallops, vegetable medley, and of course, the Shark Fin desert. My server was reliable. I tipped hm 20% before tax.

We have always frequented Mitchell’s @ Newport KY location about once every 3 months or so (give or take) when we get a craving for some seafood. We used to always be highly satisfied so didn’t mind spending the money, but we’ve noticed over the past year and a half or so it has continually gone down hill quick. We went this past weekend and were disappointed all around. From the moment we walked in everything was dirty from the bathrooms to the bar area to the dining area (mind you this is at about 730 on a Saturday night) The staff had an attitude like they didn’t want to help us and the food was horrible. My fiancé and myself spent almost $200 on our dining experience and was definitely not worth it. I ordered the twin lobster tails with asparagus and potatoes. The lobster was cold and way over cooked the asparagus was cold and raw. He ordered the perfect pair and said it tasted weird and terrible, like it came out of a can. Everything was way over cooked as well. The only thing good we had was the raw oysters as an app (Go figure they didn’t have to cook those) and they had a good wine selection. We hinted to the server that we weren’t very happy but didn’t take it any farther because at this point we knew we wouldn’t be back. We’ve spoken to management before and it clearly hadn’t helped. Regretfully, as I used to recommend Mitchell’s to everyone, I now have nothing good to say about them and we will not be going back. I’d say new management is in order at the very least.

Great Happy hour, fish sandwich for $4 plus a Moscato Sangria for $5. Good way to spend a low key evening.

Michelle's Fish Market was definitely part of my lunch plans. I had 2 Maine Lobsters that were simply amazing. The meat was sweet and gave me a comfortable feeling of home. A lot of customer's we're eyeing my plate when passing my table. Each employee that we came in contact with were all courteous. When we left there were only a couple of Lobsters in the tank. I can't wait to go back.
