They offer an nice 75 minute narrated architectural river tour. They have been doing. This longer than anyone and are the best bargain of the available river. Tours. If u purchase tickets through your hotel concierge you will save a couple of bucks as well.

A friend had recommended the architectural boat tour and even though it's not something we would typically do we thought we'd give it a try it and it ended up being really good. The tour lasted 75 minutes and it was $35.50 per person but it was totally worth it.
I'm not into architecture or anything but it was really interesting to learn about the history of the buildings and the city and I also found the architectural details to be very interesting. The guide was extremely knowledgeable and it was cool to see a lot of the city from the river.
There's an open upper level and an indoor lower level where they have a bar and sell some snacks. You can do the tour from the lower level indoors, but you really have to be on the upper level to get the full experience. We went on a rainy and rather cold day in late October but we still stood/sat up top with our umbrellas and were able to enjoy the entire tour. Highly recommended.

I thought they were awesome. We had groupon for another company and they were sold out the week we were there and we got on a Wendella boat which worked out better because it was 90 that day and we sat in the lock for a while. We were able to go to the lower lever and stay cool and have a drink. The staff was outstanding from buying the ticket to our host who gave plenty of detail on the history of the river and rulings.

Great tour. Our guide is also an architect so he had a tremendous amount of knowledge in regards to the building and it's designers. Brian gave us so much information, but he presented it in a way that kept me intrigued and not overwhelmed.
The tour was structured really well and gave our guide the opportunity to dazzle us with lots of building facts, I felt like our money was well spent. The boat ride took about 75 mins and he kept the crowd alert on when the best photo ops would be available. Overall the boat tour was an awesome experience and it gave an in depth look at how and why downtown Chicago is built the way it is. I recommend this tour if you want a good brief history.

I went on this tour with my best friend who is from the Chicago area and my wife and we had a wonderful time! The tour guide was fantastic; his name was Mark. He is a 26 year old who is a Chicago native that was charismatic, knowledgeable, and quite the showman. I can't believe he could talk for the whole time without burning out! Reminded me of a good old Baptist Pastor. We started off on the top to see the building, and then went to the lower deck for the Lake Michigan portion. I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND SPENDING TIME ON BOTH PORTIONS OF THE BOAT! All in all a superb tour and I would do it again.
