We went to the Tacklebox last night with friends. My sweet potato was delicious, and my cole slaw was good too. The onion rings were outstanding. We also enjoyed the cheesecake for dessert. Our friend's filet mignon was a little tough, and the management comp'ed her meal. Her husband's steak was fine. Service was quite good and attentive.

The food is amazing. The people are warm and the place is very clean. I recommend everyone give the Tacklebox a try.

This place is awesome! If you are a local, forget what you knew about The Comedy Catch as it ran down in it's last years here before moving on to it's wonderful new home in downtown. The Tackle Box is nice, bright, clean and comfortable. We started with appetizers. Everyone in our group loved the fried pickle spears. I'm more of a pickle chip kind of guy but agreed that they were good. They seemed more like a deli style pickle with a lot more crisp to them. The breading was light and flavoring just enough and definitely not greasy. Then on to the Hook, Line, & Sinker appetizer. Shrimp fritters, buffalo chicken cheese bites, Arancini 3 of each served with trio of sauces: sweet chili, blue cheese & marinara. All were great, although I preferred the Shrimp fritters . The sweet chili sauce is great. They also gave a side of their signature snapper sauce which was very different but very tasty. We split a basket of half Japeleno & buttermilk hush puppies. They were perfect. Not greasy or oily but just a great texture not overly spicy, just fall apart in your mouth good. Everything I saw looked to be made from scratch. My girlfriend and I split a steak 12oz with a side of broccoli which was a perfectly cooked medium well steak, but the broccoli blew us away. I've never had broccoli cooked so perfectly! we added a side of grilled shrimp to our dinner & they were fantastic as well. Dawn (the owner) & the sassy little waitress, what was her name? Oh, Angelica (NOT). She was great. Beer price like none you will ever find in town better. Definitely someplace that you can go casual with friends or go as a special little treat for a really nice dinner without breaking the bank.

Dont be turned away by the location. The Tackle Box exceeds expectations for quality and flavor of food in a nice Irish-Pub-like atmosphere.
