The Charlotte Street Cottage is enchanting! Staying at the cottage is the perfect combination of an historic house with the comfort of modern conveniences, top quality linens and an exceptional host who has the gift of hospitality! The gardens surrounding the private cottage are beautiful; it feels like a pocket of paradise in the center of downtown Charleston. The cottage is in the best location in the historic district.
The Charlotte Street Cottage is enchanting! I am very late in posting this but felt the need to do so. It's too bad we didn't even get to experience this place. We booked a girls trip scheduled for October 15-18, 2016 to celebrate my 50th. However, my dad was admitted to the hospital early September and his prognosis was not good. We cancelled the trip on September 25th and was not able to get any portion of our prepaid trip. My dad passed away on September 30th. We explained this to Air B&B and were told the owners had a strict policy, even in the event of death, no refunds whatsoever.
I can understand if cancellation was just random, but my dad passed away, so obviously I would not be in a mood to celebrate 2 weeks after his passing. We even asked if we can just change the date, same answer, NO. It's sad that people don't have compassion in situations like mine.

We recently got back from the most wonderful trip to Charleston... Charlotte Street Cottage exceeded our expectations. When you enter the private gate, the yard is breathtaking. One of the largest properties we saw in Charleston (and we went on a tour!). It has a beautiful garden, fountain, pergola, etc. and there are hydrangeas everywhere! The cottage was perfect for us. Very clean, decorated beautifully... it was just lovely. We basically walked everywhere. It was so easy. The farmers market on Saturday is just 2 blocks away, and there are so many restaurants in walking distance. The battery/water is just a few blocks away too. We can't wait to return.

We had the most wonderful stay at Charlotte Street Cottage. It is beautiful and romantic and so very charming! The cottage is totally separate from the owner's residence, so it's very private. The gardens are gorgeous, and the location is ideal... everything Charleston has to offer is within a 5 minute walk. We will certainly be staying here again! 5 stars!
We had the most wonderful stay at Charlotte Street Cottage. It is beautiful and romantic and so very charming! The cottage is totally separate from the owner's residence, so it's very private. The gardens are gorgeous, and the location is ideal... everything Charleston has to offer is within a 5 minute walk. We will certainly be staying here again! 5 stars!

This was the second time in eleven months we stayed at Charlotte Street Cottage. There truly is no better place to stay. The cottage is a perfect blend of preserved history and impeccable renovations. It exudes a feeling of welcome and belonging. Geoff and Lisa are friendly and available to assist with questions and or recommendations if needed. They have thought of everything you will need for your comfort and pampering. Each of the bedrooms are restfully appointed with the most comfortable bedding and mattresses we have ever encountered in years of travel. If you enjoy dining in, the kitchen is full sized containing every amenity we needed to produce a holiday meal. The location of the cottage is perfection. A peace filled secret garden in the middle of the city. Yet, you are within walking distance of the best food and history Charleston has to offer. Another perk is the convenience of off street parking by your front door. Our family will return again - soon.
