My wife and I have just had a terrible experience trying to get an abstract prepared and sent over to our attorney. We paid over the phone and checked in with them to make sure the process was complete. After several lies and missed deadlines for completing the delivery, we had to physically drive over to Iowa Title's office to get the abstract back from their courier and deliver it ourselves. Their courier then proceeded to make obscene gestures and laugh at us as we drove away. Our closing will most likely have to be delayed because of this.
The title company did refund us half of our money paid, but I would recommend you use any other title company in Cedar Rapids, IA if you are looking for any sort of prompt, reliable, or professional service when it comes to real estate abstract or title services.
As a follow up, we received a call from the president of the company apologizing for the situation and promising to look into the issue which was appreciated.
