Tried it for the first and what will be the only time today. The pulled pork sandwich is okay, but definitely not worth $6 and the $2.50 extra that you're charged 2 sides isn't worth it either given the tiny amount you get. Most restaurants that tiny bowl would be about $0.75. The fried green tomatoes are lacking in flavor, so much so that even salt and hot sauce barely helped. Server was quick to refill drinks initially, but once our food was served you couldn't hardly get her attention for things needed and she never asked how things were.

Our experience with Hickory Hollow started out wonderful. We had a food tasting to see what we would want on our menu for our wedding. After the tasting, it got harder and harder to contact the person responsible for helping us to plan our catering menu. Several calls and emails went unreturned, and as we got within 2 months of our wedding, decided we needed to go with a more trust-worthy, responsible, RESPONSIVE company. I mean, what company doesn't respond when you ask them who/where to send the check!!? I don't recommend doing business with this company when it comes to catering events, because they're unreliable. I wonder if the owner is aware he missed out on a few thousand dollars in catering money because the responsiveness of his team is unacceptable. We went with Mission BBQ who did a superb job. Skip Hickory Hollow, if you're looking for BBQ catering, and find a more reputable company.

What a find this place was. My son and I happened upon it after he flew into Tampa airport. We wanted lunch. He searched online and found it. At first it looked like a hole in the wall and only a couple of cars in the parking lot. We decided to try it. I am so glad we did. The food was very good. Went back a couple months later with my husband for dinner. It was crowded. Food was still good. They only take cash, but there is an ATM machine right inside the door.

Great food, the nc barbeque is pretty good, but not as vinegary as the real thing. Their selection of barbecue sauces are kind of terrible though. I didn't like any if them. The pork shank was absolutely delicious! They had a huge variety of sides to pick from. I love the feel of the place feels very backwoods! Also, remember to bring cash because they don't take card!

After reading some mixed reviews (mostly good), our company decided to have Hickory Hollow cater to the entire office. In all sincerity, the food and the quality of attentive service was outstanding! Everything was super fresh and flavorful. Everyone was impressed. This is a keeper for our company, and we cannot wait to go through their menu and try all they have to offer!
