I've had numerous facials in my life but I've never had a horrific experience like what I had here. I ended up with an itchy rash and a staph infection. They did attempt to calm my skin down when I alerted them to my reaction, hence this being 2 and not 1 star, but there was little that could be done at that point and it mostly just irritated it more. I ended up seeing a dermatologist and getting antibiotic ointment to treat the infection for a couple weeks. To this day I've still never had as horrifying an experience as I had here.

Was in Boston for the week (first time there) n needing a facial badly. Called places all over the city. Everywhere was pricey, too far ( on crutches n had to stay near the hotel), no appt available or just a lol too pompous over the phone. I was ready to give up n found Toscana on Groupon. They were able to take me just as soon as I could get there. She brought me cold water on arrival, hobbling around even the slightest makes the most exhausting experience out of normally simple stuff!!
So my skin has been unusually dry since using a new makeup remover water and broken out with deep clogs.
She was very attentive and assessed my skin's issues with precision. I've never had a proper closed comedone extraction but yesterday I got one!! As an added bonus, she was really kind and thoughtful about my condition. My arms were hurting from clutching around and upon seeing me trying to rub away some of the pain she gave both arms and shoulders a very badly needed little massage and it felt amazing.. ahhh.
My skin actually looked and felt clearer and smoother when I was done. I'm very hopeful that my long suffered breakout on both cheeks will clear up for good now. Normally I go to the Dermalogica skin services at ULTA. While my girl there us very good and helps me maintain normal skin health, this particular set of issues was just too advanced for their tactics.
In the end I'm SO glad I didn't give up searching and tried calling this last place. The timing was *perfect* plus she applied some mineral makeup after, since I had a dinner date with the Mr. at 5:30 n I really didn't need much reapplication when I got back to my hotel, despite my fear that my skin would be very red after.

Wonderful facial!! I go every month now and love how it is custom for my face each visit! I get great tips on how to care for my skin at home and have seen a great improvement ! I have now referred my fiance here. Worth every penny!!

Just had a massage from Tony, excellent! His level of pressure was just enough to massage the muscle but not to hurt. He was very professional and has a superior technique. He welcomed any request and took his cues from the client to be chatty or quiet. He was an expert at draping never once was I self conscious. Overall was a relaxing enjoyable experience. I will say one of the best I have ever had. Be certain to ask for him there are others. Only minor detail was the music. It was piped in form outside of room, the selection and volume could be improved.

I have tried several salons in the area but none of them comparable to Toscana (recommended by my friend). This place was warm and relaxing. I have also found that most upscale salons can be very snobby, but the owner and staff at Toscana were total sweethearts. I really felt welcome here. I got a pedicure and manicure done by Christina. She did an amazing job. She took her time to give me the best massage and the the paraffin wax treatment. I really enjoyed it. I also have Christina waxed my eyebrows and they came out fabulous. I already made another appointment for my next visit to see Christina again. I have never written a review, but I really really love this place so I thought I had to share.
