Checked out Black Bear Diner in Boise on opening day: Eggs done just right, meaty bacon, tasty sausage, large pancake, excellent service and great coffee; wife loved her omelet and coffee and ate more of my pancake and bacon than I did (gotta share in a relationship). Thanks especially to Daniel and the staff for their attentive service. Also liked the 50's-60's music at a comfortable volume. Hey: great food and service, what more could you ask? I think it's the best breakfast spot in Boise.

YUK! So I went for my free birthday breakfast. It took forever to get my food. The waitress was super rude - I guess you don't need to be nice to people who are getting free meals. My eggs were super under cooked, slimy! PUKE! They messed up my order and brought me pancakes instead of waffles, which I understand mistakes happen, but then came and collected the pancakes because "they have to show the kitchen the mistake" - Really? I've worked in the restaurant for years and never heard such a thing! I'm sure another patron ended up with my pancakes. Pretty disappointed in BB diner - I stoped and grabbed a salad on my way home. Subway is better than BB diner! All I can say is I'm glad I didn't pay for my meal.

We have four kids & love this place. The portions are huge, even the kids meals. They have a friendly relaxed atmosphere, tasty food with breakfast all day. Also a little corner of books and toys for kids to play while you wait for your dinner. Very family friendly which is hard to find in a sit-down restaurant.

Great food whether you want breakfast lunch or dinner! They were very accommodating when I was on a special diet. They even have a play area for little ones who like to squirm! The staff is very pleasant as well!

Prime Rib was fatty and chewy this time. If they're going to lower the grade if prime rib they get in, than they should lower the price. Our waitress was too busy chatting with another table than tending to us.
This place has always been good, but tday. Needs to be consistent. We won't be back for quite a while.
