This establishment is now permanently closed. In my opinion, it was no big loss. The prices were high and the food was only mediocre. Sure, it's got several good reviews, but people in Baton Rouge will eat anything and like it. They really don't know what actual good food is, but if you charge a lot they're fooled into thinking it's good food.

The food was ok , but the drinks were not good. Our waitress wasn't very knowledgeable of the food being served or the drinks. The sweet potato soup was just baby food!

I haven't eaten at the restaurant since their expanded menu. When Gouter's first opened it had a limited menu of small plates. Now it is much more expansive. The bar area has great potential. It's easy to stop by and have a drink, or bring a larger group to gather. The bar area is separated from the eating area, so the restaurant still feels more upscale.

Very impressed by the atmosphere and image Gouter gives as you walk in the door. Food was unique and delicious, took a minute to take in all that they have to offer. Also offer a good wine selection, and will help you make a decision to match your taste. Will definitely be back to try the other dishes.

The best idea I've experienced. Louisiana food, Louisiana inspired food, Louisiana influenced dishes....you get the point. Tapas style dishes focused on family style sharing. Palatable by the tame and adventurous. This is by far the best place in Baton Rouge for the experience and food. Chefs table is an experience you'll never forget!
