I only came for the bread pudding and I have to say it's delicious! I came to Louisiana for a convention and couldn't leave without bread pudding. It was simple yet amazing. Not too mushy (try it with a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top)

Arrived promptly at 1 pm and food was served at 230 pm!! Service was poor. The bus boy kept trying to clear the table even though we hadn't eaten. The food was ok but pricey for the portion and the tepid temperature at which it was served. This place does not live up to its name. Disappointed.

We had a gift card so it basically cost me nothing to go here. Everything seemed pretty good except the food. We were very surprised at how low the quality has gotten here. It's not that the food is bad, it just isn't great. If your charging premium prices, people tend to expect a high grade of food being sent out on the plate.
Think about it... My wife and I have a gift card with these guys. So we ate and tipped for free and we still walked out disappointed. If I had to have paid the $114 it cost I would be a bit miffed at the food.
We still have more money on out gift card, but we are saving it for a trip to NOLA. We will not be back to their bistro.
Btw the alcoholic drinks and service were pretty good so they have that going for them.

Galatoires is a really terrific restaurant. I understand they recently changed their menu and I hope it still as good as it was because the food was of exceptional quality. It's a little noisy in the restaurant but that contributes to the lively atmosphere. This is one of the top restaurants in Baton Rouge.
