I love this place! I enjoy the reclining seats and not having to get up for any food or drink. Depending on what you would like to eat, it can be a little pricey; but, it is worth it! 🤗😍😄

We decided to have a family day and visit movie tavern. Although I’d heard some bad reviews, we decided to take a chance anyway. The theater was spacious and the seats were comfortable; however, the service was another story. I ordered the chicken salad, my kids ordered nachos, dip and deserts. We also ordered drinks as well. My salad was super salty. I sent it back twice with the same results. Finally I requested that they just give me another serving of chips and dip with a coffee. The coffee was ice cold, the dip was cold and tasteless as well. I had to request the drinks for the kids about 5 times. They finally arrived after about an hour. The server was friendly but the service was slow and left a lot to be desired.. The movie experience was a pleasant one so if you’re going to simply watch a movie I’d recommend it. My advice is to eat first before going and don’t bother with the dining aspect.

Worst service experience of my life... Sat down & pressed the red button 20 minutes before the movie started... The server came to us 45 minutes after! We where in the middle of the movie and I ordered fried pickles... The people sitting next to us ordered the same time as we did and ordered fried pickles as well... They got their food right away and we never received ours ever! 3 of the servers said out loud "Man, I hate my job! I'm not going down that row again!" Such a rude environment, NEED ALL NEW SERVERS, and more efficient cooks... I DON'T RECOMMEND THIS PLACE... EVER

If you are looking to eat your meal during your movie - this is the place for you. If you are looking to just enjoy a movie with a beer - this is the place for you. However, if you're there to get just the movie experience - this may not be the place for you.
The service is fantastic, and make sure that you are prepared to tip your server! The seats are the nice, automatic recliner ones that most movie theaters are now putting in.
My biggest complaint is that they leave the lights on all the way for even just the previews, so often times theres a glare. I know that this is for servers to bring orders for those who got there early. Also prepare for the server to be walking around and talking to the other customers. Some customers are not so quiet so also be aware of that. I don't find this rude as it is a common interaction between customer and server.
These things should all be kept in mind when going to the Movie Tavern. It is a great place for certain people, but may not be exactly what your looking for all the time. I hope this review helps make your decision easier.

This is pretty much the only place we go to see movies now. We love that we get to reserve our seats, and then we don't have to worry about getting there 20 minutes early. Even if we didn't plan on eating, the reclining chairs make for one of the most comfortable movie experiences in Baton Rouge. The food is good, not great, but I also don't expect gourmet food from a movie theater. I also appreciate the reasonable food prices (on par with Chili's and the like). Overall, very enjoyable way to watch a movie!
