Back in the day, this was a bar, but over time, it became vacant, fell into disrepair and was finally torn down by the city. Their redevelopment plan for the area called for turning it into a small parking lot. Lindsay Thompson, an area resident, spearheaded a plan to turn the neighborhood eyesore into a community garden. This was accomplished in 2012.

Okay, I visited this place in Nov. 2015. I expected to be a nice, clean and calming garden to relax and enjoy a quick lunch. But that really wasn't the case.
I'm sure it was nice and beautiful before (like the other's post/photos taken ~2yrs.ago. But it looked like it's been abandoned and not maintained.
I will say it is still a nice place and calming and I enjoyed the rest of my snack here.
I will say that I really liked the neighborhood around it. Calm and clean area and the leaves in the autumn, omg.
