Excellent dishes and service, very genuine and friendly staff. Food is flavorful with some really great light / vegetarian dishes. Quiet and comfortable in the midst of the loud bar scene that otherwise seems to dominate the area. Overall a very authentic feeling place. Recommended for a small group or a date especially when you're looking for great service and a relaxed ambience.

The house pâtè is amazing. Order a bottle of wine to go with it and enjoy the duck for a main course. When we are in Austin, we eat at least one meal here.

This is honestly one of the best restaurants that I have ever been to. If you're like me, and the typical extremely crowded and noisy restaurants past work hours aren't your thing at all, try this place. Not only that, the food is excellent - some of the best I have ever had at a restaurant (I had the Spinach soup and the sirloin, with the apple crepe thing for dessert) The table next to me also heavily complimented their server on the scallops. Another reviewer used the word "unassuming" and I like that. It doesn't look flashy in the front and it wasn't even fully occupied (my kind of place!) The servers were attentive and polite and explained to me everything I asked about the food and their weird names. A full course is $28-35, plus more if you want another side, wine, coffee, etc. I'm glad the more popular places had a 2 hour wait, because I never would have come here!

Came in solo on a whim last night and so glad I did. Small unassuming cafe with attentive service, a great wine selection and outstanding food quality!!
I had the lamb sausage w/apricot this time, which was amazing and ended with a home made chocolate pastry with ice cream, which was decadent! I normally would post a picture as well, but I was so consumed with the flavors involved I completely forgot :D

My very favorite date restaurant in all of Austin! The atmosphere is charming, the wait staff friendly and inviting, and the food is consistently...well... perfect! They make what is easily my favorite duck liver mousse in all the world!
This was where we celebrated first anniversary, and I tonight, we are celebrating our tenth! Thanks for all the good times and the excellent food, guys!
