A friend recommend this trendy spot in Atlanta after having two good meals during lunch hours. I ordered the chicken and waffle as well as the Ox Tails... couldn't decide. Everything looked good at first but then noticed they burnt the bottom side of the waffle and thought I wouldn't find it...i didn't send it back I just ate the top part and kept it moving. The Ox Tails were just okay.

I would also add that of our party of 4 we only had one dish that was really good. Our friend that recommended the spot ordered grill veggies and he was the last person to get his order 35 minutes after we got ours. His better half sent her stewed chicken back because she was so dissatisfied with the taste. Now keep this in mind, of the many years of fine dining together We have never sent an order back. The only thing We could do was laugh out loud at how BAD this experience was.
We will not be back and would caution others as it's a real hit or miss. But if you go it seems that things can be much better around lunch time as it may be a little slower than Friday night when we went.

Had the chicken n waffles. Have to see it was quite good. But the service was even better. My server Jackie was AWESOME! She made sure I felt at home and was very attentive while dining in for lunch! If all else fails I know I can get great customer service from Ms Jackie.

ATMOSPHERE WAS AWESOME FOOD WAS EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTING AS WELL AS THE STAFF. THEY WERE NICE BUT ILL EQUIPPED TO HANDLE THE CROWD. FOOD WAS NOT FRESH JERK CHICKEN DRY RICE COLD RED VELVET CAKE DRY CABBAGE NOT SEASONED AND DISAPPOINTING. UNDERSTAFFED WAITRESS NEVER CAME TO REFILL GLASSES. I HAD TO GO TO THE BAR MYSELF FOR REFILLS. I MAY GO AGAIN WHEN LESS CROWDED TO SEE IF THIS TIME WAS JUST A FLUKE OR THIS IS BUSINESS AS USUAL. My worst dining experience. I invited a friend to join me for dinner around 9p on a Monday after walking the BeltLine. We came in around 8:50 pm a little sweaty so we ordered the food to go. Our food was not prepared until after 9:30 p.m. When we got home to eat we noticed that the food was cold, it had no taste or flavor, the salad was dry and included no dressing. My friend ate the salad with dressing I had from my home and I took the rest of the food back to the restaurant. I expressed my disgust to the manager and someone who told me he was the son of the owner because the meal was over $30 and it was beyond terrible. The manager had NOTHING to say and DID NOTHING to compensate my time, money or poor experience. This is NOT my first poor experience with the restaurant. In fact EVERY experience I had dining at Spice House since they opened has been poor. I continued to patronize them because they are new, I live close by and I like the decorum of the restaurant but this last time was so disgusting to me they would have to hire a new Chef and staff before I would come back.

This was my first and probably last visit due to poor customer service, lack of attention to detail, not to mention slightly overpriced (and I don't mind paying for a great dining experience) we ordered the crab cake appetizers $14 looked like 2 small salmon croquettes, oxtails $19, bones and gravy, red snapper $26 was decent(definitely have had better) asked for hot sauce thinking I would get something authentic considering it's a Jamaican /Haitian establishment and got $$Tree hot sauce in a cup. Ordered a dirty martini that had olive oil in it, yuck! I Love and want to support businesses in our communities however we have got to deliver quality from start to finish.... when you know better, you should do better best wishes Spice House
