There are some things to like about Sake Sushi. It has a nice location and building. I always appreciate a warm finger towel before dining. Everyone was pleasant. The nigiri appetizer was just fine. The miso soup and grilled salmon were seasoned well. The prices are right.
However, it could benefit from some fine tuning.
One only gets one chance to make a first impression. The hand scratched help wanted sign on the door made me a little uneasy. I'd fix the mudholes in the parking lot, pull some weeds, and pick up the cigarette butts littering the entrance.
Then, I'd work on the pace of the service. I'm sure it wasn't intentional, but it was rushed - Bam! Soup and salad. The salad didn't add much and it was pretty goopy with ginger dressing. I barely finished my salad and bam! here comes my appetizer. I kind of thought the appetizer should have come first. Then, before I had barely started my appetizer, here comes my entree. And was it hot. Red hot. They serve it on one of those cast iron fajita plates. Even after I finished my nigiri it was still too hot to eat. Do you know how salmon gets when it gets too hot? And I was a little surprised the salmon seemed previously frozen. Odd for a sushi restaurant.
So, if I go again, I'll stick to the nigiri and order one thing at a time.

Food has always been good and I eat there at least once a month, but they are not the most sanitary.

I ate here for the first time today and it was probably one of the best places that I've been. The sushi was prepared quickly and the chef (owner) was super sweet and helpful! definitely recommend
