As good as it gets as always! Great menu selection, moderate prices. Always leftovers!

First things first - the wait staff was excellent. Our waitress was very attentive and management periodically checked on the guests to ensure they were kept fed and watered. Of course, this is a two star review, which means Alexis Diner failed to live up to the essential function of every restaurant: to serve up delicious food (or, in the case of a diner, comfort food). The actual culinary experience at Alexis Diner started off on the wrong foot when we were delivered Raspberry Vinaigrette instead of Raspberry (Melba) Sauce to accompany the table's mozzarella sticks. With a healthy - nay, hilarious - portion of marinara sauce on hand, however, we felt comfortable letting this initial error pass by unremarked. Likewise, the fact that each house salad came with different topping was... fine. With four of us ordering the same salad we took advantage of the mishap and mixed and matched our toppings like we were back in grade school trading Pokemon Cards. A truly delightful throwback. ("Does anyone have croutons? I'll trade you for cucumbers!") But the real disaster arrived with our chicken pot pies. Again, four of us had ordered the same dish and all four, upon the initial bite, looked up aghast at the situation. Our chicken pot pies were not piping hot as they should have been. No. Instead of a steaming bowl of sleep-inducing Americana, we found cold chicken and potatoes and vegetables inside. We flagged down our poor waitress and, after making individual marks on our chicken pot pies so as to avoid confusion and cooties, requested (as politely and apologetically as possible) that our pies be returned to the fires whence it came. A disconcertingly short while later she returned and offered us back our meals - again we were met with rather cold (though relatively edible) chicken pot pies. One of our party sent it back again while the rest soldiered through chicken pot pies which were hot in places, cold in places, and lukewarm in general. The experience was rather like swimming through the protected lake waters of a public beach in Upstate New York: while the water is mostly cool, it's sometimes icy cold, and then suddenly extremely warm where someone peed. That's the best way to describe the chicken pot pie, really. Given that experience, I can't recommend anyone eat at Alexis Diner, or swim at public beaches, and I love swimming as much as a good chicken pot pie.

We come up here at least twice a month on the weekends. Great service and the food is always fresh and delicious. I would remember Alexis diner to everyone. Jackie is out favorite waitress. She is always polite.

Very disappointed. I ordered a plain water (no lemon) and the waitress brought it to me in a dirty glass, plus there was an old lemon seed in the bottom of the glass. I asked if they could bring me a new one and the new one had a gnat floating in it. All I wanted was a glass of clean water to drink, I didn't realize it would be so difficult. They had one vegan food option, a vegan burger. It was not very good at all, very dry and overcooked. I will definitely not be visiting this establishment again.
