History wise, this place is beautiful. It also has a nice little selection of shops too. However, it gets extremely busy so its best to visit early in the morning if you want to snap some nice photos of the street.

MAGNIFICENT city with very interesting history and some monuments...can't miss the minster and the national rail museum..both tickets appear to lat for 1 year from purchase so you/family / friends can visit more than once within a year...

Beautiful with quaint shops, including tea rooms, two Italian restaurants, bakeries, candy, and jewelry shops. The shambles tavern is great for a local ale. So cosy.

Very famous spot in York, but it's just a wee street in reality, so bring your own information if that's what you are here for. It's a honey pot for tourists and has the usual fudge and tourist shops on it. I just like the feel of it and spend most of my time looking at the blend of buildings and leftover architecture like the old meathooks and butcher table fronts.
