A great pub on the river side in York it is also historically interesting and it's celler is upstairs because the actual celler is often flooded when the river overflows

Characterful pub with exclusively Sam Smith's beer, so therefore v cheap indeed. Friendly staff and nice atmosphere, although the NO SWEARING signs all around the place seem a bit unnecessary.

This is one of the best places in the city if you are on budget and want to have some nice view with a beer. The bartenders have been always friendly, helpful, and fast throughout my visits.

WONDERFUL place, tables outside have a romantic view of the river. I drunk the nicest beer I have had in York (a lager they said was their bestseller - I don't remember the name). The only negative thing, as most pubs in England, it has no music...

The pub that always floods! Well kept traditional pub right next to the river. They only seem to serve local beers and lagers not your usual Stella, Carling ect. The price's are brilliant a pint of bitter and half a lager £3.00, must be the cheapest pub in York. No wonder it's always busy but you get served quickly.
