We've just moved to Chalford from Northleach and, after a long-day's gardening, decided to try our new local. So we tidied ourselves up a bit, and headed to The New Red Lion: 'A Lovely Pub in the Heart of the Cotswolds' according to its website. Bad mistake! All the other people in the pub were playing cards for cash at the bar. There was a lot of shouting and (serious) swearing. There was also a large television on the wall, but no one was taking any notice of it. (What's the point?) We thought of moving to a different room, but they were all closed, so we finished our drinks quickly and left. Totally ghastly experience - thank goodness we didn't take the family.
