Lovely place with great coffee and friendly staff. Service can be slow when it's busy, but they don't forget about you! I'd love it if they had some savoury food in the evenings, however the cakes are lovely.

One of my new favourite places for coffee and cake. The vegan pecan brownie is absolutely delicious (and this is coming from a non-vegan!) and the coffee is great. The atmosphere is really lovely and chilled out, a little slice of peacefulness in a bustling city. Love the fact that they have a water feature indoors! Not my first visit here and definitely not my last. 😊☕️❤️

Nice relaxed place to go for a hot drink and cake. They have comfy armchairs and lots of space, without obtrusive loud music, so you can chill out. The staff are friendly and there's a good range of teas and cakes to choose from. I've not bought a book from there as the book selection is quite limited.

An absolutely lovely and very quirky atmosphere! Really enjoyed going for a coffee and cake at chapter one books. It's a good place to come and do uni work or read a book has a very relaxed atmosphere. I have given them 4 stars as they do not serve food only drinks and cakes which is a bit of a let down. But it's in an area which is close by to town so you could always eat and go for tea and cake here after! Otherwise this is a lovely place and I will be visiting again!

Very nice combined book and coffee shop. They have excellent selection of sweets.
Strongly recommend trying the Oreo cake and Earl Grey lemon cake
Staff are very friendly.
