Great intimate venue, bar, one of my favorite places. Live music regularly, also educational sessions related to music. Great staff, good sound for gigs.

Maybe the brilliant music on offer, tonight it was Nadine Shah, influenced this review but a great place to see live music. Small enough to feel intimate but enough room to breathe 😎

A nice room to watch a gig. The revamp was tasteful enough, and the graphic equaliser adornment outside is always fun to see. It's good that a historic venue like this is still in business and putting shows on.

Great venue, one of the best in Manchester. Good sound and always an excellent line-up. Great facilities and selection of drinks, not too expensive (but not really cheap) either. Would recommend checking out if you're visiting the city and need entertainment.

I have spent many nights over a period of 50 years here and could write a diary on how its transformed throughout my own experiences here A first class venue for live music and varied acts. I first entered here in the mid 1970's when Jazz was the main theme in a speakeasy kind of atmosphere. I fell in love with the place in my 20's, small and intimate showing great acts from America and local talent too such memorable names like the Victor Brox band and Kenny Garrett. This venue is well known internationally with a fine history going back to the 1800's. Refurbished and reopened in 2009 and still excels in offering new talent. John Cooper Clarke and even Joy Division cultivated their rise to fame here. Highly recommended for a great night out.
