Brilliant beer selection, food pretty good though a bit stingy on some dishes

Very lucky to have this great pub as our local. Incredible selection of cask and keg beers, with even more in the fridge if you run out of inspiration! Good Sunday lunch.

The manager kept on micromanaging where we stood and how we moved around and it should be noted we were a birthday celebrating bunch with 4 newborns, not lager louts. He told us at a point to sit down in an essentially empty pub. We eventually objected and he stopped serving us. He had a neurotic and authoritarian style (go figure) trying to show to his poor staff and clients that he runs the place. I have never experienced anything like this. It takes much of an effort to create a negative experience in such a gorgeous pub and the manager, er, managed it.

Looks a bit odd from outside (I think it looks a bit like an estate agents) but inside it's really cool. Great decorations and a well stocked bar with a great selection of craft beers. Lots of seats and lovely comfy chairs by the fire in winter and an outdoor area in summer.

This is our new local even though it's only the third closest pub for us. The beer selection is excellent, with standard options plus 8 rotating craft beers and a great bottle/can selection as well. Great Sunday roasts and starters but sometimes the mains are just ok. Huge outdoor seating area fully covered in winter - with open fire pits. Friendly and helpful bar staff.
