A nice place to tour on a Sunday. Spencer House is probably not in my top-tier of London historical places for first-time visitors, but on my 4th trip to London, we decided it was time to visit. It's a a lovely place that gives you the essence of how the aristocracy lived in days gone by. If you've got the time on a Sunday, stop in and take the tour.

We have just been on a group visit to Spencer House and it is a beautiful house which has been sympathetically and wonderfully restored. it is a gem overlooking Green Park, full of treasures dating from the 15c. Our guide, Maurizio, was enthusiastic and very knowledgeable about everything. This place is worth a second visit as there is so much to see. There is no cafe, but then it's only open two days a week, and there is a multitude of cafes in the direct vicinity. The website and leaflet tells you this, so you know before you visit.
