Their attitude, as per the ES article, betrays massive privilege and entitlement. Gentrifiers like this add nothing to the area. They don't hire locals. Culturally appropriate Indian culture, move into a new area for their business, and try and get the local black churches silent because they are 'inconvenienced'. Awful.

Really upsetting and disgraceful attitude regarding black communities in Peckham. I was shocked to read the article in the Evening Standard...
They later apologized for their statements but it is hard for me to belief that the apology was not only based on trying to keep customers. I would choose a yoga place more in harmony and accepting with the community they enter.

Move into Peckham to gentrify and think you have the right to complain about "ghetto blasters?" Google ghetto, you'll be surprised to see that ghetto doesn't= black church singers! who knew?!-Just about anyone who cares to take time to understand general things about the world. The ignorance is remarkable, the sense of entitlement outstanding ( but not unexpected).Educate yourselves PLEASE, understand the community YOU moved into, and then actually engage in some critical thinking if you can manage.

Congratulations on being resourceful enough to open your own business, plowing in thousands of £ of your own savings to do so. Also it's great you're doing some classes where people can just pay what they can afford so everyone can benefit. I wish you luck and success.
